Math Test

Of 23 students taking the Mid-Chapter 5 Math Test, 22 students passed with an adjusted score of 11 or better. The modal average score was 15. Two students achieved a perfect score.

One Hundred Tenth Day of School

We have been working on a new multi-disciplinary creative assignment which highlights persuasive writing written in an imperative voice. We will incorporate Social Science and Math skills into the final product. Also in writing we will be beginning our Opinion Unit.

One Hundred-First Day of School

Everyone who showed up today voted to postpone our Valentines's Celebration until Wednesday, February 17th to give kids some recooperation time. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Ninety-Fifth Day of School

In Writing today, we began the revision process of our latest work. We learned how to make informational texts more interesting by adding interesting facts, notes and/or riddles in the margins of the paper.

In Visual Art we experimented with line and color using oil pastels to make an abstract drawing.

Unit 3 Week 5

This final week of the Having Fun Unit we compare children in different parts of the world to ourselves. We analyze text structure for our comprehension strategy and compare and contrast for the comprehension skill. Our oral vocabulary words are culture, custom, language, similar, skill. Our sight words are any, boy, by, does, friend, girl, water. We will also focus (review) triple consonant blend spelling patterns (scrap, splat, stretch).

In Social Studies we decided we would take our world map test on Friday.
